AFC Leopards loan out Koloti as new captains are confirmed

AFC Leopards have confirmed the departure of striker Christopher Koloti, who is set to join FKF Premier League side Mathare United on a season-long loan.

Koloti, who joined AFC Leopards during the January transfer window, had limited playing time under coach Tomas Trucha.

The club announced his move on Saturday, just ahead of their league opener against Mathare United at the newly refurbished Dandora Stadium.

CLUB UPDATE: Christopher Koloti has joined FKF-PL side Mathare United on a season-long loan. The burly Kenya Under-20 forward joined us on 26th January 2024 from Kakamega High School’s Green Commandos and made his debut on 15th June 2024 in our FKF-PL match against Shabana FC at Raila Odinga Stadium, Homabay. Everyone at AFC Leopards wishes Koloti the best,” the club stated.

Before joining AFC Leopards, Koloti featured for FKF Division One Zone B side Green Commandos, where he netted 21 goals over two seasons.

He also played for Leopards’ youth team in the Kakamega Governor’s Cup exhibition match at Bukhungu Stadium, where he scored the match-winning goal.

In addition to Koloti, AFC Leopards have loaned out Emmanuel Lwangu to Shabana FC after renewing his contract with the club.

“Emmanuel Lwangu has joined FKF-PL side Shabana FC on a season-long loan. The 21-year-old center-back recently renewed his contract for two years with the club. Lwangu joined us in 2022 from Kakamega High School’s Green Commandos and made his debut in 2023. Last season, he played 10 matches, featuring for 615 minutes and scoring one goal. All the best Emmanuel,” the club revealed.

AFC Leopards have also announced that Clifton Miheso will take on the role of team captain, with Victor Omune, Levis Opiyo, and Lewis Bandi serving as his assistants.
