Kenyan officers in Haiti

The Kenyan contingent was deployed to Haiti to support the Haitian National Police (HNP) in combating gang violence, securing key infrastructure, and restoring public safety.

During their deployment, they played a critical role in safeguarding airports, seaports, road networks, and other transport corridors, ensuring safe movement of civilians and effective delivery of humanitarian aid.

Speaking at the reception, Monicah Juma praised the officers for their professionalism and integrity, noting that their service had enhanced Kenya’s reputation globally. She urged returning officers to share their experiences to strengthen both local and international operations in the future.

Phased withdrawal

This comes days after 215 officers from the second contingent of the MSS Haiti mission touched down in Nairobi.
