3 arrested in Narok while ferrying household items at night

Police officers have arrested three people and recovered an assortment of household items in Narok County.

In a statement on Thursday, July 31, 2025, the National Police Service disclosed that the three individuals were arrested after midnight when police officers observed that they were carrying a heavy load.

“National Police Service officers from Narok Police Station today, while on night patrol within Narok CBD, spotted three individuals at around 1:15 am carrying what appeared to be heavy luggage,” the statement reads in part.

Recovered items

Police indicate that the three were arrested and taken to Narok Police Station, where the items have been kept as they process the arraignment of the three individuals at the court.

Among the recovered items the trio were found with, according to the police, were a gas cylinder, a TV, and a sub-woofer. They were also found with weapons, including a panga and a metal rod.

“Upon stopping and searching them, officers discovered that the suspects were in possession of a 6kg Pro Gas cylinder, black subwoofer, 32-inch Dlight TV, a panga, and a metal rod,” police say.

Burglary offences

Police say the three have previously been associated with cases of burglary in the past, and that they are preparing a case for the possession of suspected stolen property.

“All three were arrested and taken to Narok Police Station, where they are being held pending arraignment in court for possession of suspected stolen property and preparation to commit a felony. It was also noted that they have previous convictions for burglary and housebreaking offences,” the statement reads.

On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, police officers in Likoni, Mombasa County, acting on a tip-off from members of the public, conducted a raid on a house in the Soweto area, JCC zone.

During the operation, officers recovered a range of items suspected to have been stolen in previous incidents. The recovered items included two television sets, a coffee maker, a laptop, gas cylinders, a jungle bag, and multiple identification cards.

Additionally, 38 rolls of a substance suspected to be cannabis (bhang) were seized at the scene. Two suspects were arrested in connection with the raid and are currently in custody, pending arraignment in court.
