One person has been arrested in a police operation that led to the recovery of assorted tools in Kilifi County.
In a statement on Monday, August 11, 2025, the National Police Service (NPS) stated that the person of interest was nabbed in Mtwapa town, and that several watches and a wristband were also found in his possession.
“Police in Mtwapa have arrested a suspect and recovered a haul of suspected stolen goods following an intelligence-led operation conducted today, August 11, 2025, in the Kasarani area of Mtwapa Township,” NPS said in a statement.
Recovered items
Among the other things recovered were grinders, drills, rechargeable drills, three batteries, a hand-held circular saw, 13 watches, and a gold bracelet.

“The swift operation saw officers seize four grinders, seven drills, two rechargeable drills, three batteries, a handheld circular saw, thirteen assorted watches, and a gold-coated bracelet,” NPS said.
“The suspect is currently in custody and will be arraigned in court as investigations continue. National Police Service remains committed to pursuing criminals and ensuring stolen property is recovered and returned to its rightful owners.”
Narcotics seized
This comes just after the DCI arrested a person of interest found in possession of narcotic drugs worth an estimated Ksh125,000 during a targeted operation conducted on Sunday, August 10, 2025.

According to a statement from the National Police Service (NPS), officers from Malaba Police Station carried out the successful raid within Malaba Town, where they apprehended one suspect with five bales of bhang.
“The suspect was placed in custody at Malaba Police Station pending processing and arraignment in court,” the statement read.
The bust, police said, is part of an ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking in the border town, which has increasingly become a key transit point for illegal substances.
The NPS reiterated its commitment to tackling drug-related crimes across the country.
“The National Police Service remains committed to combating illegal drugs nationwide,” the statement emphasised.
Police have urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities that may be linked to the distribution or trafficking of narcotics.
