Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Joe Mucheru has said over 1.2 million people are currently working online in Kenya through Ajira Digital program.
Speaking in Mombasa, the CS further said the government has provided over 350 work stations with computers and free WiFi to enable youth to work online.
He urged the youth to take advantage of the program and avoid being used by politicians.
“Don’t be cheated again that you have no value. Don’t get lost,” he told the youth.
The CS further weighed into the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) debate saying Kenyans especially the youth lost a lot when the initiative was stopped by the courts.
“With BBI, we were going to take money all the way to the ward level and someone doesn’t want you to have that money. How is that a good thing?” he posed.
He also asked the youth to elect people who are going to help them.
“You can elect yourselves or able people who will represent you,” he added.
