President Ruto’s recent statement about the release of abducted Gen Z protesters has raised concerns among affected families and Kenyans at large. The President should provide transparent information about who was responsible for these abductions and what actions have been taken against the perpetrators.

There are indications that the President may be receiving inaccurate information, as numerous Kenyan youths remain missing. Affected families deserve accountability and justice. The government must provide clear evidence supporting their claim that all abducted individuals have been released.

Many parents, families, and friends continue searching for missing loved ones, feeling ignored and unsupported by authorities. Some live in constant fear, unsure if they might become the next victims. This situation has eroded public trust in the government, as officials appear to share misleading information while taking no meaningful action.

If the government persists with its claim that all abductees have been released, it could impede investigations into unresolved cases. Failure to properly address these issues might lead to widespread unrest across the country.

Organisations like the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights should advocate for victims, document cases, and demand accountability. The media deserves recognition for exposing these abductions and must continue informing the public and holding authorities responsible.

MPs must address the consequences of policies like the finance bill that led to protests, subsequent killings, and abductions. They should strengthen legal protections against such human rights violations.

Civil society groups and activists should raise awareness and organise peaceful demonstrations to pressure the government to deliver justice for victims and their families.
