Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition now says they quit bi-partisan talks after the Kenya Kwanza side failed to show interest to address the substantive issues that were to be discussed.

In a statement read by the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) party leader Eugine Wamalwa, the coalition said cost of living, an audit of IEBC servers, restructuring and reconstitution of IEBC, and an end to taking over of Azimio affiliate parties were the main issues to be discussed.

“Our team wanted some preliminary action on the issues. Unfortunately, the team met resistance on all desired actions,” Wamalwa said.

The coalition also accused the Kenya Kwanza bi-partisan talks team of taking instructions from different bosses.

“There was no clear direction from President William Ruto on how to proceed,” he added.

The coalition has given the ruling alliance up to Tuesday, May 30 to come up with a solution on the way forward.

“We will issue a statement on our next course of action of Tuesday if the talks will not have resumed,” Wamalwa said.
