Wamaua: Greedfuelling Central succession talk
As political infighting escalates in the Mt Kenya region, leaders have been warned against unnecessarily heightening political temperatures and instead concentrate on serving Kenyans.
Legislators should tone down talk on succession politics and instead focus on development and advancing the interests of voters, said Maragua MP Mary Wamaua.
“Whatever is happening in the Mt Kenya region is about political interests and greed. Some leaders think things can happen when they are in certain positions,” she told reporters.
Wamaua aimed at her Laikipia East counterpart Mwangi Kiunjuri and other MPs who had directed verbal attacks on Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Speaking in Thika, she said some politicians fighting Gachagua had failed to improve the socioeconomic conditions of their constituents, citing poor roads and a lack of electricity.
