Waiguru kicks out demonstrators, showers UDA with praise
Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has reiterated her support for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) after demonstrators tried to disrupt a meeting she was addressing on Thursday, November 18 in Kirinyaga County.
During the meeting held at Kianjiru Dispensary in Kirinyaga, Waiguru ordered for the dispersion of the demonstrators asking security personnel to kick them out.
“Those who are making noise here, throw them out,” Waiguru said, stating that UDA is a national political party.
“UDA is a political party for the Hustler Nation and not just for the people of Kirinyaga but for every individual in Kenya,” Waiguru said.
The Kirinyaga Governor further heaped praise on Deputy President William Ruto’s popularisation of the UDA party in his nationwide campaign rallies.
“Yesterday the Deputy President was in Meru. Everyone in Meru is saying that the party is UDA,” Waiguru said adding that the DP was in Tharaka Nithi County on Thursday where he was well received by UDA party supporters.
“The Deputy President was in Tharaka Nithi county today and the people there are saying that UDA is the political party to watch and tomorrow he will be in Embu county where the people will welcome him, Waiguru said while chanting the ‘kazi ni kazi’ UDA party slogan.
In her argument, the Kirinyaga County chief said UDA does not discriminate when it comes to work and employment opportunities.
“For a long time, the government has been channelling development funds to other projects but it’s now time for money to be sent to the grassroots level,” Waiguru said.
