Uhuru to convene Jubilee Party delegates conference at Ngong Racecourse

Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to convene the Jubilee Party National Delegates Conference at the Ngong Racecourse.

In a statement on Thursday, September 4, 2025, Uhuru, who is the Jubilee Party leader, announced that the national delegates conference slated for Friday, September 26, 2025, will be conducted at the Jockey Club in Ngong Racecourse.

“Further to our notice of a Special National Delegates Convention dated 5th August 2025 and pursuant to Article 8.1 and 10.1 of the Jubilee Party Constitution, a notice is hereby issued for a Special National Delegates Convention to be held at the Jockey Club, Ngong Racecourse, Nairobi, Kenya on 26th September 2025,” the statement reads in part.

Uhuru further revealed that some of the key agenda items that are expected to be addressed during the delegates’ conference include the review, formulation, and approval of the previous ruling party’s policies.

Some of the agenda items are to receive a status report from the National Executive Committee, review, formulate, and approve the Constitution, organs, policies, programs, and consider and approve any other matters.

NEC resolutions

Also, the conference will discuss the deliberations and resolutions arrived at during the Jubilee Party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held on August 5, 2025.

During the meeting, the party resolved to convene a National Delegates Conference (NDC) in approximately one month. Equally, the NDC is expected to finalise party leadership and strategic direction.

Party direction

Uhuru is expected to spearhead the new direction of the party as it seeks to mainstream its operations. The August 5, 2025, meeting was the first NEC held following the conclusion of the court cases involving the party.

The conference comes at a decisive moment when the IEBC is planning to conduct by-elections across the country, and as political parties begin realigning ahead of the 2027 general elections.
