Uhuru set to campaign for Raila-Karua ticket in Mt Kenya region
President Uhuru Kenyatta’s allies have disclosed that the Head of State will hit the campaign trail in June and in July.
Uhuru’s major focus will be in the Mt Kenya region where he will commission development projects as he drums up support for the Raila-Karua ticket.
Speaking exclusively to Nation, Kieni MP and Jubilee Director of Elections Kanini Kega stated that the president will camp in his backyard in June and July to sell his Azimio candidate, Raila Odinga.
The lawmaker stated that the schedule of the tour will be made public after the Madaraka day celebrations.
Uhuru will commence his tour in Nyeri county before proceeding to other parts of the vast Mt Kenya region.
“His countrywide campaigns will start with the mountain. We do not just want him to the campaign. The President will also commission projects. President Kenyatta will also show us which direction to take. It is obvious Mt Kenya is with Karua. She is the person we will oscillate around when the boss leaves the office,” Kega told Nation.
The President, who is currently in Switzerland, will meet Mt Kenya leaders allied to the Azimio-One Kenya Alliance to plan his tour of the region.
