UDA’s Hassan Omar launches scathing attack on opposition leaders
By Elias Kiplimo, December 11, 2025The Secretary-General of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, Hassan Omar, has fiercely condemned opposition leaders who continue to criticise the governance and leadership of Kenya Kwanza, stating that their arguments lack any foundation.
Speaking in Elgeyo Marakwet County on Thursday, December 11, 2025, where he led the party’s grassroots mobilisation drive at St Patrick’s Boys High School in Iten, Omar urged citizens not to pay attention to any leaders opposing the government.
Among the leaders criticised was the Wiper Patriotic Front Leader, Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, whom Omar labelled a turncoat lacking the ability to lead the nation.

The Leader of the People’s Liberation Party (PLP), Martha Karua, and the former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) were named as arrogant and haughty leaders who should never be given the chance to lead the nation.
“There is no politician who was arrogant in any government we know of, like Martha Karua, and yet today she preaches to us about good leadership. She is very arrogant and haughty,” Omar remarked.
Ndindi Nyoro criticised
The Member of Parliament for Kiharu, Ndindi Nyoro, the former chair of the Budget Committee in the National Assembly, was also criticised.
Omar termed Nyoro’s recent comments as giving ‘lectures’ to the Kenya Kwanza leadership, especially concerning the government’s strategy of taking out loans to advance various development projects.

Omar stated that Nyoro seems to see himself as overly knowledgeable, insisting that William Ruto’s government cannot be stopped by baseless noise.
The Secretary-General further noted that the UDA will never agree to hand over leadership to people who will continue bad governance in the nation. He defended the government’s debt strategy:
“We are trying to change Kenya, and others are throwing ‘lectures’ at us; they are telling us about debt. Those who preceded Dr William Ruto, why did they take debt to develop just one area?” he questioned.
Omar emphasised that it is impossible for Kenyans in certain areas to be denied their development rights, stating that the government will not retreat from advancing various development projects nationwide.
Finally, Omar requested that the youth should not listen to or be misled by matters being spread on social media, especially those opposing the government.
