UDA diehards from Mogotio trek for 3 days to reach party headquarters

United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party diehards from Mogotio Constituency in Baringo County trekked for three days to reach the party headquarters in Nairobi in a show of loyalty and support.

In a statement shared through the party’s social media platforms on Monday, February 2, 2026, UDA noted that the supporters were received at Hustler’s Plaza by the party’s National Treasurer, Japheth Nyakundi.

The group, made up of 50 youths led by Emmanuel Kipkurui, pushed a yellow wheelbarrow, the party’s symbol, throughout the journey. Their trek began on Friday at Noiwet Village in Ngubereti Location, Mogotio Ward, Baringo County. During the journey, they were supported by Mama Grace Sialo Tangut, who provided them with milk and water.

“Pushing a yellow wheelbarrow – the party symbol – the 50 youths led by Emmanuel Kipkurui were supported by Mama Grace Sialo Tangut, who gave them milk and water during the trek that began on Friday at Noiwet village, Ngubereti location, Mogotio ward, Baringo County,” read the statement

Nyakundi commended the group for their dedication to the party’s agenda and their continued support for President William Ruto’s re-election bid in the 2027 General Election.

“Hon Nyakundi hailed them for their commitment to the party agenda as well their continued push for President William Ruto’s re-election in the 2027 General Election” it continued

Also present at the party headquarters to receive the team were Nairobi County nominated MCAs Virginia Waithera and Cecilia Wairimu, alongside party directors Samuel Mwangi, Rob Jillo, Grace Gicovi, and members of the party secretariat.

Mogotio MP Reuben Kiborek later acknowledged the gesture through his social media platforms, praising his constituents for their spirited walk and determination in braving the three-day journey to the party headquarters.

Aspirant forum launch

This comes a day to the UDA aspirant forum which will taking place in statehouse speaheded by president William ruto on February 4, 2026.

According to the deputy president, Kithure Kindiki, a total of 9165 aspirants have already registered through the party’s UDA aspirant forum that was recently launched by the National Steering Committee (NSC) of UDA.

“Out of the total, 139 aspirants are competing for the 47 gubernatorial seats, 240 for the 47 senatorial positions, 274 are targeting the 47 woman representative seats, and 1,205 are vying for the 290 National Assembly seats. The largest number, 7,307 aspirants, will compete for the 1,450 ward representative seats,” Kindiki said.
