UDA cancels Kamkunji constituency repeat election

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has announced the cancellation of the repeat election in Kamkunji Constituency Nairobi County.

According to a notice issued by the party's National Election Board, the repeat party election for the religious position scheduled to take place on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Hustler Center at 9 am won't take place due to unavoidable circumstances.

The Election Board added that they will give further information regarding the new dates for the elections in due course.

“The National Election Board of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) hereby issues a notice of cancellation for the repeat election in Kamkunji Constituency, which was scheduled to take place on Thursday, 6th June 2024, at Hustler Center at 9:00 am. Due to unavoidable circumstances, the repeat election for the religious position in Kamkunji Constituency will not take place as planned,” the Election Board said.

“We regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. Further information regarding the rescheduling of this election will be communicated in due course."

Kamukunji repeat election

Earlier the Nation Election Board through its chairman Anthony Mwaura had notified the UDA members who wished to contest for various positions of the repeat elections in the Kamukunji constituency.

The Board said that the Religious position will be conducted on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Huster Center starting from 9 am adding that all eligible delegates including the nominated and elected members of the National Assembly and elected ward officials were invited to participate in the electoral process.

“The National Election Board of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) hereby issues a notice of repeat election to all eligible delegates in Kamukunji Constituency, which will be conducted as follows; Kamukunji Constituency Religious Position Only. This election is scheduled to take place on Thursday, 6th June 2024 at Hustler Center at 9:00 am,” the National Election Board said.

"Eligible voters include: Elected Ward officials from the Ward election conducted on the 18th of May 2024 and repeat ward election conducted on May 19, 2024. Nominated and Elected Members of the National Assembly. All eligible delegates are hereby invited to participate in this electoral process."
