Tearful Esther Passaris finally congratulates Ruto, insists Azimio family is pained
By Mathew.Ndungu, September 13, 2022Nairobi woman representative Esther Passaris has finally congratulated William Ruto on his inauguration to become the 5th President of Kenya.
Passaris, a staunch supporter of Raila Odinga, the Azimio La Umoja – OKA former presidential candidate said that while Kenya had lost an opportunity to enjoy the leadership of the former premier, Ruto was undoubtedly the 5th president and she was bound to congratulate him.
In a Facebook post minutes after Ruto arrived at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi where his inauguration ceremony is ongoing, Passaris wished Ruto the best in his tenure.
“As tears flow freely, I know Kenya has lost an opportunity that only God can restore. I sincerely wish William Ruto the best in his tenure. Congratulations to those who voted for him,” said Passaris.
“Despite our pain as Azimio family; the best of Raila Odinga shines in all of us today,” she added.
The second-term lawmaker has been an ardent supporter of Odinga and has been on the other side of politics with Ruto.
She congratulated him only a day after the outgoing president Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta sent his warm congratulatory remarks to Ruto and assured Kenyans that he would hand over power before God and Kenyans today in a ceremony that has been attended by at least 20 Heads of States.
