Senator Sifuna slams PS Omollo over insecurity in Lamu

Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna has fired at Interior Principal Security (PS) Raymond Omollo over insecurity in Lamu County.
Speaking during an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) recruitment drive in Maweni village in Lamu county, Sifuna called out the PS for failing to protect the residents from the spate of insecurities gripping the region.
While calling out the PS over negligence of duties, the senator accused Omollo of being clueless over his mandated roles and the regions that need further attention to avert insecurities.
“Kaunti ya Lamu imetelekezwa na serikali kuu kuna visa vingi vya utovu was usalama humu na najua mnaishi katika hali ya hofu sana na nilipokua nakuja nikauliza kama mnajua Raymond Omollo nikapata hakuna. Huyu Raymond Omollo ndio PS wa usalama lakini hajawai kufika hapa ajue hali ya usalama iko aje,” he stated.
Sifuna went on to chew out the PS saying he was appointed to the position to prove a point to the citizens in the Nyanza region.
He particularly stated that President William Ruto offered him the job to tackle the opposition and recruit ODM members to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party and other parties allied to the president.
Further, the senator warned the PS and stressed that the ODM members in the Nyanza region cannot be bought.
He also asked the PS to refrain from interrupting public meetings and funerals to sell the Kenya Kwanza agenda.
“Hii ni nkwa sababu yeye ni wale walikua wanakua appointed kwa serikali kama flowergirls, hio ni mfumo wa kuchagua mtu ili ionekane kwamba kuna mjaluo katika serikali, lakini hakuna kazi anajua. Ukimuuliza Raymond Omollo mara ya mwisho ulifika katika kaunti ya Lamu kuzungumzia usalama wa wananchi ni siku gani. Kila siku anashinda huko Siaya kugawanya maharagwe na mchele.
“Hivo ndio anafikiria atatoa wananchi kusimama katika ODM ati waingie kwa serikali. Sisi ni watu wa kununuliwa na mchele na maharagwe? Jameni, Raymond wacha kuharibu mikutano ya hadhara na mazishi kule nyanza. Njoo hapa Lamu usuliuhishe swala la usalama,” he added.
