Sifuna joins ODM top leadership in Mombasa amid party infighting
Orange Democratic Movement Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has joined the party’s top leadership in Mombasa ahead of the mega celebrations to mark its 20th anniversary.
In a statement on his X page this Saturday, September 13, 2025, Sifuna was accompanied by the party’s national chair, Gladys Wanga and Deputy Leader and Mombasa governor, Abdulswamad Nassir
Sifuna’s presence in Mombasa comes amid his adversarial stance toward the party on different fronts.
The Nairobi Senator has been at loggerheads with a section of the party officials for his public criticism of President William Ruto, the ODM’s broad-based partners.

Meanwhile, he has also been among the politicians leading the public support for an emerging crop of Youthful leaders under the ‘Kenya Moja’ faction.
The Nairobi senator has, however, continued to carry his party functions despite mounting calls for his resignation from a section of party officials clamouring for his resignation.
