Salasya throws weight behind Philip Aroko ahead of Kasipul by-election
Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has thrown his weight behind Philip Aroko for the Kasipul Parliamentary seat.
In a statement on his official X page on Monday, September 29, 2025, the DAP-K lawmaker urged Kasipul voters and the general public to support the flamboyant businessman’s candidature.

“Guys, help me to tag my candidate for Kasipul this evening and show him love Philip Aroko for MP. Just type good life ama otete otete. We must win in Kasipul and Malava,” he said.

The parliamentary hopeful faces a tough battle against Boyd Were in the upcoming November by-elections.
Were, the son of slain MP Charles Ongondo, was declared the winner of the Orange Democratic Movement ticket in the primaries conducted on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.

Following the result, Aroko, who elected not to vie on an ODM ticket, called on defeated aspirants in the Kasipul Kabondo by-election to rally behind his candidacy in the contest.

Aroko contended that it was the only way to defeat what he termed as external forces being imposed on Kasipul residents.
