Ruto: Opposition is only focused on sharing power

President William Ruto has blasted the united opposition politicians, accusing them of being more interested in power-sharing deals than in improving the lives of Kenyans.

President William Ruto has hit out at the opposition brigade, accusing them of focusing on a power-sharing plan instead of actual initiatives meant to improve the livelihoods of Kenyans.

Sharing power

Speaking in Kisima Maralal on Monday, November 10, 2025, Ruto stressed that the country’s surest path to transformation lay in policies that addressed initiatives and projects in infrastructure and improvement in the health and education sectors and not selfish pursuits.”

“Those guys have no plans or agenda for you. Their main focus ends with how they will share the government among themselves. They have no agenda on electricity, roads, or even improving our education,” he stated.

He revisited the onslaught that they lacked an agenda for Kenyans, adding that they will soon face the backlash from an informed public.

No agenda

“They are planning how they will share the government among themselves. I want to tell them the government belongs to the people. Their only agenda has been Kasongo and one term. They have to know the citizens are informed and will elect their leaders on the basis of the works they have undertaken,” he added.

His remarks come after he similarly scoffed at his critics of his economic transformation dream by stressing that his administration will surprise many by transforming Kenya from a third-world nation to a first-world country.

He maintained that his government had the vision, plans, and resources to achieve the ambitious goal.

“Wale watu hawana maono, hawana mpango, hawana sera. Ati wanasema Kenya haiwezi kutoka third world kuenda first world,” Ruto said. “Nyinyi hamkuamini chochote, lakini tutawashangaza, tutawashitua, kwa sababu Kenya katika maisha yetu itatoka third world country hadi first world.”

Ruto cited major strides in housing, healthcare, and infrastructure as proof that his government is capable of delivering results that critics once claimed were impossible.

He urged Kenyans to remain patient and united as his administration rolls out projects aimed at empowering citizens.
