Raila crowned Kuria elder

Kuria council of elders have endorsed ODM leader Raila Odinga as the community’s preferred presidential candidate ahead of the August general election.

The elders led by State Department for Social Protection Principal Secretary Nelson Marwa crowned Raila king in a cross blend cultural ceremony also graced by Luo council of elders chairman Opiyo Otondi.

The elders dressed up Raila in the Kuria community cultural regalia and uttered words of wisdom to wish him well in the quest for the state’s top seat.

Raila was accompanied by his wife Ida Odinga and a number of Governors led by Raila’s Presidential campaign board chairman Laikipia Governor Nderitu Muriithi.

Others were: James Ongwae (Kisii), Cyprian Awiti (Homabay), Wycliffe Oparanya (Kakamega), Prof Anyang Nyong’o (Kisumu).

Also present were Ndaragua MP Jeremiah Kieni, MPs Kanini Kega,(Kieni), Paul Abuor(Rongo), Walter Owino (Awendo), Mark Nyamita(Uriri), Peter Masara( Suna West) and Junet Mohammed (Suna East) and a host of MCAs, Jubilee coalition and ODM officials.
