Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya coalition supremo Raila Odinga has arrived in Kenya after a one-week tour in Dubai.
Raila arrived at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Friday afternoon and is headed to Kibra, where he is set to hold a rally.
The opposition leader was received by a section of his supporters and other leaders such as Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, a section of Nairobi Members of County Assembly (MCAs), Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Deputy Leader Wycliffe Oparanya and other leaders allied to the opposition.
National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi had earlier announced that Raila will address a people’s baraza in Kibra after he jets back from Dubai.
“The Kibra People’s Baraza will also set the stage for the peaceful mass action that is set to resume in Nairobi on May 2, 2023, as earlier announced,” Wandayi said.
“We appeal to all supporters of our quest for a just, fair, and democratic nation that prioritises its citizens to turn up in large numbers and welcome Rt. Hon. Odinga home and attend the Kibra rally. We further appeal to everyone attending the twin events to maintain peace and order as we have done in the past,” he added.
