Please abandon OKA, join Raila- Atwoli pleads with Gideon Moi
Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has pleaded with KANU chairman and presidential hopeful Gideon Moi to join Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga in his quest to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta next year.
During his address at the much-hyped Azimio la Umoja at Kasarani stadium, Atwoli thanked Moi for taking time out of his busy schedule to honour Raila’s event.
“I want to thank my party leader Gideon Moi for coming here today, and I want to guarantee him that we will not leave him in One Kenya Alliance. We will go with him to Raila,” Atwoli said.
Atwoli further urged Moi to walk out of OKA and work with the former premier in the Azimio la Umoja Movement, which Raila said he will use as his political vehicle in the quest to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“Walk out and come work with Baba (Raila Odinga) because we should not leave you in OKA,” Atwoli said.
Moi on his part said he came to Raila’s Azimio la Umoja event because of the respect the former premier had always accorded him and the KANU party.
He was the only OKA principal who was present at the Azimio la Umoja convention after Amani National Congress (ANC) Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula cited personal engagements as the reasons for their absence.
Wiper party Kalonzo Musyoka also missed the event.
