Oketch Salah accuses Sifuna of hypocrisy over his remarks on 10-point agenda

Businessman and politician Oketch Salah has launched a scathing attack on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, accusing him of hypocrisy over his opposition to the 10-point agenda.

Speaking in West Pokot on Sunday, February 8, 2026, Salah criticised Nairobi Senator Sifuna for threatening to resign from ODM if the party collaborated with UDA, arguing that such statements contradicted his past role in developing the agenda.

He described Sifuna’s current stance as misleading to the public, noting that while he was part of the team that designed the 10-point plan, he has now opposed it without following through on earlier commitments.

He added that if indeed Sifuna wants to resign due to ODM’s alliance with UDA, he could have done so earlier enough since, according to him, the alliance between the two parties began at the point of crafting the 10-point agenda.

Salah further stated that despite Sifuna’s stance and his opposition to the party direction, he is still needed in the ODM party and the party of the orange family, urging him to tone down and support the party leader, Oburu Odinga, in running party matters instead of continued infighting.

Tunamwambia bwana SG tunampenda bado tunamhitaji kwa ODM. Uunge mkono Dkt Oburu kwa sababu hii ni party yako na wewe ni part of this family.”

This comes days after Edwin Sifuna, during an interview, slammed the Committee on Implementation of the NADCO and 10-Point Agenda (COIN-10), saying that it has done nothing a year after its reconstitution in 2025.

Speaking during an interview with a local media station on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, the outspoken Nairobi senator came down hard on the five-member committee chaired by Agnes Zani, saying it has made no meaningful progress despite having adequate time to act.

Sifuna revealed that in June 2025, he publicly challenged the committee to stop what he termed as ‘laxity’ and get to work. However, he said he was advised by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to ease off and give the team an additional six months to implement the report.

In a bold move, Sifuna issued a 30-day ultimatum, demanding that the committee move with speed and provide Kenyans with the final report

“Raila told me to give them 6 months; it’s already 6 months, and I am here to say they have 30 days to give a final report on the MOU because the committee has done absolutely zero,” Sifuna stated.
