ODM’s Wanga censures Ruto’s deputy
A section of ODM leaders have told Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to stop scolding President William Ruto in public.
Led by ODM chairperson Gladys Wanga, the politicians said the Deputy President’s latest utterances would polarize the country.
Wanga urged Gachagua to focus on his constitutional responsibilities and stop shenanigans and lamenting about his woes in government.
Wanga stressed that both the President and Deputy President must focus on the duties assigned to them by the People of Kenya and deliver instead of bickering.
“If you are elected as a President and Deputy President, you must be serious with your work and the work that Kenyans have given you. And you must know that it is not your duty to come back and lament,” Wanga said at a press conference in Kisumu.
Wanga who is also the Homabay governor went on to emphasize that the Kenya Kwanza administration has a clear constitutional mandate, and Gachagua should focus on it rather than engaging in divisive political rhetoric.
She told Gachagua to be more proactive in touring the entire country and promoting national cohesion and development instead of preaching tribal politics.
