ODM officials: Ongwae, Ong’era resignation nugatory

By , November 7, 2022

Orange party officials from Kisii county have blasted former Governor James Ongwae and former Woman Rep Janet Ong’era for ditching the outfit.

Party chair Kerosi Ondieki, vice-chair Evans Ontegi, Gaudencia Sigara (woman leader) and Steve Asuma (youth leader) said the duo never campaigned for it and the exit was long overdue.

Addressing ODM sub-county chairmen and delegates at the weekend, Ondieki said Ong’era and Ongwae were attention seekers and strangers to the party.

“Their exit is an exercise in futility. They were not involved in ODM campaigns and were playing nocturnal roles,” Ondieki said.

Duo separately ditched ODM,  claiming the party’s top leadership had ignored their grievances prior to the August polls, allegations Ondieki dismissed, saying their exit was proof that they were not part of the party.
