Oburu Odinga’s son declares interest in Lang’ata MP seat
Raila Odinga’s nephew, Jaoko Oburu has declared interest in the Lang’ata Parliamentary seat.
Jaoko, is the son of East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member of Parliament Oburu Odinga.
Oburu is Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga’s elder brother. He is also eyeing the Siaya senatorial seat.
In a post shared on his official Facebook account, Jaoko asked voters to register in their numbers as he hinted that he will be battling out for the seat on an ODM ticket.
“Kura yako ni sauti yako (your vote is your voice),” he posted as he shared a poster showing his political interest.
On Tuesday, Jaoko who is the current County Executive Committee Member for Roads and Public Works in Siaya took head-on a section of social media users who critiqued his political statement.
“Your political rights are only valid until you become an Odinga,” he said.
The Lang’ata parliamentary seat has attracted several aspirants who want to unseat Nixon Korir.
The aspirants include comedian and media personality Felix Odiwuor alias Jalas, City-based lawyer and Odinga’s aide Silas Jakakimba among others.
