Raila Junior has announced that his uncle and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Oburu Odinga has agreed to convene a family meeting amid cracks in the Orange party.

In a statement on Friday, January 23, 2026, Raila Junior made it clear that the meeting will be aimed at addressing the recent issues pitting family members and the ODM party following the demise of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

“I’m not a politician. I love everyone and respect everyone. My uncle has agreed to a family meeting on the 1st. I would like it sooner,” Raila Junior stated.

Raila Jr., who wished that the meeting had been sooner than the date scheduled, said that he was not aware of what was happening in the family and has never been interested in politics owing to the sense that he is not a politician.

“I don’t know what is happening; musiniingishe kwa hizo siasa,” he made it clear.

Junior made the announcement minutes after President William Ruto nominated Mama Ida Odinga as Kenya’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
