Obado opens PDP regional office in Mombasa county

Migori Governor Okoth Obado has opened the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) regional office in Mombasa to steer party affairs in the region.
Obado said his partywill open regional offices in at least 24 counties in the run-up to the August 2022 general election.
Obado who is also the party’s leader said the office in Changamwe constituency of Mombasa will enhance administrative efficiency in the second largest city.
The second-term governor said his party will field candidates for the positions of Members of County Assembly, Women Representatives, Members of Parliament, Senators and Governors across the 47 counties.
“We will definitely field candidates vying for all elective seats and if there is any person interested in running for the presidency they should feel most welcome,” he said.
The county boss said that the party’s nominations for various elective positions would not be marred by irregularities including vote rigging, voter intimidations and violence.
“We assure Kenyans that PDP will conduct free, fair and transparent primaries in the forthcoming polls,” he said adding that the problems bedeviling Kenya is as a result of uninspiring and visionless leaders.
He promised that PDP will offer servant-leadership contending that it’s the remedy for the politics of desperation in Kenya.
Obado said PDP is determined to mount aggressive recruitment drives across the country in advance of the 2022 general election to prevent rival parties from gaining electoral edge.
