Ngunjiri Wambugu dares Gachagua to withdraw all cases challenging his impeachment
By Lutta Njomo, August 24, 2025Former Nyeri Town Member of Parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu, on Saturday, August 23, 2025, challenged former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to withdraw all cases challenging his impeachment.
In a statement, Wambugu asked the former DP to withdraw the cases if he truly believes that the impeachment was a blessing in disguise.
“If Gachagua genuinely believes being impeached was a blessing and that he is now better off, let him withdraw ALL the cases challenging the impeachment,” Ngunjiri Wambugu wrote on his official social media page.
He argued that if Gachagua continues to brag about how the impeachment catapulted his political career without withdrawing the cases, he was playing his supporters.

Impeachment blessing
This is after Gachagua was quoted by a local publication claiming that his impeachment was a blessing, as his statue had grown immensely.
“Today, I thank God for the blessing of that impeachment. At first, I suffered, believing God had forsaken me. Today I know better, and I’m sorry for questioning God’s ways. My stature has grown to levels I could not have imagined,” Gachagua was quoted.

Nonetheless, the former second in command promised to lead a full-blown campaign to make President William Ruto a one-term Head of State.
Jets back from US
The sentiments came a day after the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader arrived in Kenya after his long tour in the United States.
Commotion was witnessed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) as his supporters thronged the premises, chanting his name while awaiting him to pass the checkpoint.
Gachagua was in America for six weeks, where he mobilised supporters and held public forums with Kenyans in the diaspora. He also sustained attacks on the Kenya Kwanza administration, prompting some of Ruto’s allies to call for his arrest.
