Ngirici officially resigns from Jubilee, to run for Kirinyaga governor as independent candidate

Kirinyaga Woman Representative Wangui Ngirici has formally resigned from the ruling Jubilee Party.

Ngirici made the move even as she plans to contest for the county’s governor position as an independent candidate.

In a letter shared on her official Facebook account, Ngirici who seeking to unseat incumbent governor Anne Waiguru formally left the ruling party.

“Kindly receive my formal resignation from Jubilee Party effective 14/4/202. My decision is guided by law and informed by the need to contest in the forthcoming general elections as an independent candidate,” the letter read in part.

Ngirici, who left the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party months ago, urged the Jubilee party to delist her membership from its list.

“My party membership number is GNU30000364. Kindly assist me in delisting my membership in your political party list. Thank you in advance,” Ngirici said in the letter addressed to the party’s secretary-general.
