Kirinyaga county Women Representative Wangui Ngirici has dared Governor Anne Waiguru to defect from Jubilee to Ruto’s UDA party, and battle it out with her at the party’s primaries.

Speaking in Thiba ward of Mwea Constituency, the flamboyant MP said she is ready to face off with the incumbent governor exuding confidence that she would beat her hands down.

Ngirici was reacting to Governor Waiguru’s earlier remarks during a morning TV interview that pointed towards her shifting camps and joining Ruto’s hustler nation.

“If the people of Kirinyaga decides that you (Waiguru) are going to be their next governor, I am willing to support you. But if I beat you during nominations, you’ll have to support me,” she said.

The two women leaders have expressed interest in Kirinyaga’s gubernatorial seat with Ngirici affirming that she has her guns trained only at the county head position unlike other leaders.

“There are others who are yet to decide where they are going to seek presidential candidates or the gubernatorial seat, but as for me I have already decided,” she same

Wangui also outlined a list of services that she thinks Waiguru should focus on before making any political move.

Among the issues she highlighted include poor services in the health department, poor road connectivity and other devolved functions.

“She (Waiguru) should first serve the people of Kirinyaga before she could
settle on moving to UDA,” she said

The two, are among a list of high-ranking candidates eyeing the Kirinyaga county gubernatorial seat.

Others include NARC Kenya Leader Martha Karua, Former Governor Joseph Ndathi, business man Comba Ndau Among others.
