Ndegwa Njiru blames Ruto for fuelling division, vows to stop him in 2027
By Kiprono Keileb, October 26, 2025Lawyer Ndegwa Njiru has sharply criticised President William Ruto, claiming he is stoking tribal division and pledging to thwart his plans ahead of the 2027 elections.
In his post on Sunday, October 26, 2025, Njiru rejects framing communities as adversaries and stresses the social and everyday ties that bind Kenyans across ethnic lines.
He singles out President William Ruto as the source of division and warns that the political tactics of the past will not be allowed to repeat in 2027.
“Ruto is our public enemy No. 1, period,” he stated, adding that all communities in Kenya have spaces from friendship to professionalism. Luos are not GEMA’s enemies; Luos are our friends, brothers, sisters, in-laws, clients, neighbours, roommates, classmates, business partners, doctors, and political cousins, and the list is long. Adui ni mmoja, adui ni Kasongo,” he stated.
Njiru’s message is blunt and emphatic, delivered in language meant to rally supporters and challenge political opponents. Njiru further stated that the politicians must not bring back what happened in 2007, saying 2027 is a different year.

“Kasongo must be told in no uncertain terms that 2027 is not 2007. This time, we must make Kasongo fail in his usual evil, divisive mission,” Njiru stated.
The statement touches on sensitive themes in Kenya’s public life: ethnicity, national unity, and the risk of divisive politics. Njiru frames his position as protective of social bonds and as a rejection of tactics that pit communities against each other.
While Njiru’s comments are forceful, they form part of a wider public conversation about political leadership, national cohesion, and the tone of debate leading up to the next general election.
Njiru put his voice at the centre of this debate, urging citizens to be alert to what he describes as deliberate attempts to divide the nation. Whether his warning will translate into a broader political movement or prompt responses from the named individuals remains to be seen.
