Natembeya intensifies Western tour, storms Wetang’ula’s turf in Bungoma
By Luke Oluoch, October 4, 2025Trans Nzoia governor George Natembeya has stepped up his charm offensive in the western region by touring Bungoma County on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
The politician, fresh from being crowned as the regional spokesperson by Vihiga elders, was in Netima, Bungoma county, where he took his quest to convince the region to chart a common path toward the 2027 general elections.
Incredible turnout
“I concluded my day at Netima in Bungoma County, where I was warmly welcomed by an incredible turnout of supporters. Engaging with the vibrant community was truly inspiring, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to connect, listen, and share in meaningful conversations as we champion the unity of the Mulembe nation,” he said.
His visit to Bungoma was preceded by a similar visit to the Nabongo Mumia’s Mausoleum in Shiembekho, Matungu Constituency, Kakamega County.
“This visit is part of my continued efforts to unite and consolidate the Mulembe Nation as we chart a common path toward the 2027 General Elections,” he said of the visit.

The outreach to the broader Western region continues as the politician seeks to build political support and influence.

A section of Vihiga leaders on Saturday, September 27, 2025, oversaw his coronation as the region’s spokesman in an event that took place at the doorstep of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi in Sabatia Constituency.
He was handed a whisk and a staff to symbolise his new role as leader, with the community now looking up to him for direction. After receiving the instruments of power, he lifted them up to signify his readiness and acceptance of the new status.

Speaking before the coronation, Natembeya termed the function a starting point of his journey across the entire Western region.
The politician has been at the forefront championing for fresh leadership in the entire western region and unity of the Luhya community.
He has vowed to end the manipulation of the region by external forces starting in 2027.
