Murkomen booed at Bomas

By , November 27, 2019

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen met a tough reception at Bomas of Kenya during the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report launch on Wednesday.

The Senate Majority Leader, who had been invited to make his remarks, voiced his concern on how the program was being run.

Murkomen faulted Junet Mohamed for not accommodating people with different opinions.

Junet was the master of ceremonies at the event.

“Even the way Junet is running the program is not good. We must have an honest discussion,” said Murkomen.

No sooner had Murkomen’s remarks settled into the minds of people, than tens of voices rose to boo him in disapproval.

His Murang’a counterpart Irungu Kang’ata, who was seated near the podium, was all in stitches as his colleague battled to calm the audience.

It took the intervention of the BBI task force Chairman Yusuf Haji to calm down the situation.

Murkomen was, however, allowed to complete his speech.
