Mudavadi urges Western MPs to close ranks, speak with one voice on development agenda
By Kiprono Keileb, October 22, 2025Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has called on Members of Parliament from Western Kenya to unite and champion the region’s development agenda in close partnership with the national government.
Speaking on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, after a meeting with Sirisia MP John Waluke, Teso South MP Mary Emase, and Kiminini MP Kakai Bisau, Mudavadi emphasised the importance of collaboration among leaders from the region.
He said unity was key to unlocking economic opportunities and ensuring that Western Kenya fully benefits from national projects.

“An insightful afternoon engagement with Members of Parliament John Waluke (Sirisia), Mary Emase (Teso South) and Kakai Bisau (Kiminini), who paid me a courtesy call at my office,” Mudavadi said in a statement.
The Prime CS described the meeting as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen ties among Western Kenya leaders and align the region’s priorities with the government’s national development agenda.
“Our conversation centred on deepening collaboration as leaders to safeguard the unity of the people of Western and champion the region’s development agenda in close partnership with the government,” he said.
Mudavadi noted that the region’s development requires a collective approach, urging MPs and other leaders to work beyond political divides. He stressed that only through coordinated efforts could the region effectively address issues such as infrastructure, agriculture, and youth employment.

“I encouraged them to extend these conversations to their colleagues, as we build stronger bridges of cooperation and chart a collective path forward,” Mudavadi added.
The meeting comes at a time when national attention is turning toward equitable resource distribution and regional inclusion in the government’s broader economic plans.
For Mudavadi, the call for unity among Western MPs is part of a larger effort to ensure that no region is left behind in Kenya’s development journey.
Observers see Mudavadi’s message as a push for political maturity and a reminder that cooperation among leaders remains the foundation for meaningful progress.
As the Prime CS continues to engage leaders across the country, his focus on unity and shared purpose appears to be resonating strongly in regions keen on driving growth through collective action.
