Mudavadi takes a swipe at Gachagua, says his brand of politics is outdated
By Arnold Ngure, August 8, 2025Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has taken a swipe at the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua, stating that his brand of politics is outdated.
Speaking during the funeral ceremony of former Karachuonyo MP Phoebe Asiyo at her home in Wikondiek on Friday, August 8, 2025, Mudavadi noted that Gachagua was at his wits’ end, and that his political oblivion was imminent.
“Ukiona mtu anatembea kule anauza ukabila mpaka hata wenyeji wake wanaanza kumwambia tumechoka, basi ujue sasa huyo jamaa, siasa yake duni imeanza kufika ukingoni,” Mudavadi said.
(When you see that person who is out there selling his tribal politics until his own people are beginning to call him to order, then you should know that his brand of politics is soon coming to an end.)
Defends broad-based govt
Mudavadi equally defended his association with the broad-based government, noting that the coming together between President William Ruto and ODM Party leader Raila Odinga was necessary for the preservation of the nation and the safety of citizens.

“The broad-based government is not about the self-preservation of leaders; it is about the preservation of the state and nation. It is also about preserving peace, stability, equity, and creating stable institutions which shall be inherited by our children and our children’s children,” Mudavadi said.
He scoffed at critics of the broad-based government, observing that no matter how hard they attempt to discredit the pact, it could not be dismantled.
United nation
“Some people are throwing shade on the coming together between Raila Odinga and President William Ruto. I want to tell them that no matter how hard they try, these two leaders have demonstrated that the nation and the safety of all citizens come before any other selfish consideration,” Mudavadi stated.

“We are in this together because we want a prosperous country and one with lasting peace, and one with an expanding economy. That is the reason why we are in support of the broad-based government,” he added.
