Moses Kuria warns Mbeere North party rivals: ‘If you don’t take care of your votes, we will steal some’
Former Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has publicly bragged about his election vote manipulation techniques, adding that he will be open to employing the trick in the Mbeere North by-elections.
In a press briefing with the Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) candidate in Ishiara on Saturday, November 22, 2025, Kuria affirmed that he is ready to protect their votes and assure Mbui of his victory while bragging about his tactics of election manipulation.
Stealing votes
“We are here to protect our votes and make Mbui the MP for Mbeere. Having handed him the party ticket three months ago. I have seen how he has undertaken his campaigns, and I have no doubt in my mind that he will be the MP on November 27,” he stated.
The former CS also controversially claimed that they will not be leaving anything to chance, including employing rigging the polls in favour of their candidate, if need be.
“The people of Mbeere North have decided from Siakago to Mushonoke to Kanyuombora. They want a candidate from within Mbeere. I am only here to help his bid and protect our votes. If they also don’t take care of theirs, we will steal some,” he added.
The remarks come as the politician known for his controversial takes admitted to engaging in election manipulation schemes in the past.
In a typical fashion, depicting his unbridled outspokenness and double-speak, Kuria could do little in restricting himself to his recent warnings against electoral interference that he has been advocating.

Earlier, while speaking at the same forum, Kuria sent a direct warning to President William Ruto by boldly telling his former boss that the international community will keenly follow how the country will conduct the mini-polls.
International community focus
“Mimi nataka kuambia serikali sana sana nataka niambie rais William Ruto directly: the international community is watching,” Moses Kuria stated.
“How we conduct these elections is of interest to the international community. Sasa vile mnafikiria vile Suluhu amefanya tunaenda kuwa na hiyo ya Tanzania, jameni Wakenya sio Watanzania, msijaribu hapa; it will not be business as usual if you try those monkey businesses here in Kenya,” Kuria added.
“Kenyans cannot tolerate nonsense,” he insisted.
