Moses Kuria opens Chama Cha Kazi doors after Gachagua’s lawyers demand
By Kenneth Mwenda, November 9, 2025Former Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has stated that his Chama Cha Kazi Party has opened doors for all who dream of leadership, regardless of their professional background.
Taking to X, on Sunday, November 9, 2025, Kuria emphasised the value of enterprise in Mt Kenya, maintaining that people are gifted differently.
“The DNA of Mt Kenya people is Enterprise. Not everyone can be a lawyer. Kenyan economy is fuelled by SMEs and MSMEs. Everyone is gifted differently. Chama Cha Kazi welcomes all who dream of leadership including my friend Wamituriru from Gichugu,” he said.
This comes days after former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua appealed to the vast Mt Kenya region to elect at least 40 lawyers to the various houses in the 2027 polls. Gachagua argued that the lawyers would help negotiate and even defend the region.

Tugege tag
Kuria has also raised concerns over Wanjira Wamabati distancing herself from the “Kagege” identity, despite her Wamabati name. He explained that he sympathised with Wanjira’s position but questioned why she felt the need to apologise for her entrepreneurial background.
“Today I listened to my good friend Hon Wanjira Wamabati when she spoke at PCEA Kayole attended by DCP Party Leader Rigathi Gachagua. Wamabati is former MCA for Magutuine in Mathira and aspiring MP for Mathira on DCP ticket. I really sympathised with her trying to explain that she is not a Kagege despite her Wamabati name,” Kuria posted.
“I have known her as a very innovative, brave and inspirational businesswoman and leader. Does she deserve to go to this length to apologise for being entrepreneurial?”
Wanjira made the remarks during a church event at PCEA Kayole in Embakasi Central, on Sunday, where she spoke alongside DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua. The event reflected ongoing political mobilisation in Mt Kenya ahead of the 2027 elections.

Gachagua targets political betrayers
Gachagua, addressing attendees, promised to expose political leaders he claimed were plotting against the Kikuyu community and his party. He singled out MP Mejja Donk for rejecting a bribe aimed at undermining Gachagua’s political efforts.
“Mejja Donk told him he needed money but could not sell his brother. If there is a person who cannot betray our house, it is Mejja Donk,” Gachagua said.

He warned that anyone collaborating with rivals would be publicly named next year.
Meanwhile, Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba criticised Gachagua and the DCP, vowing never to join the party. She accused members of branding leaders who do not align with them as moles and betrayers.
Wamuchomba said she will continue speaking uncomfortable truths and will not support leaders blindly or under intimidation. She called for unity in Mt Kenya under the Wantam banner, stating that political infighting only deepens divisions.
