Nyali Member of Parliament Moha Jicho Pevu has warned of heightened political changes ahead of the 2027 elections, saying the country is heading into a period of open confrontation. He said leaders should prepare for a tough political season as public anger grows over governance and the cost of living.

Speaking in Thika on Saturday, May 23, 2026, Moha addressed supporters in a fiery speech where he criticised government policy on fuel, accused leaders of tribal politics, and questioned the continued focus on the fourth President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He dismissed Government-to-Government (G-to-G) fuel import deals, calling them misleading and controlled by a small group of individuals.

“Hii maneno mnasema G to G hiyo ni porojo na hekaya za Abunuwasi,” he said. He claimed the system allows private interests to set fuel prices without proper oversight.

Moha questioned why the national oil corporation is not fully involved in the arrangement.

“Kama ni G to G kwa nini isikuje kwa national oil yetu ya taifa? Na bei ianze kutengenezewa hapo,” he said.

He added that protests would continue if fuel prices remain high. “Sisi binafsi tutaingia maandamano mpaka mshukishe bei ya mafuta wananchi wawe huru,” he said.

He then turned his attention to retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, saying leaders should stop treating him as a current state actor.

“Uhuru Kenyatta sio rais wa Jamhuri ya Kenya, ni aliyekuwa,” he said. He added that Uhuru holds no government position. “Kama kazi imewashinda fungeni virago muende nyumbani,” he said.

Tribal politics and tensions

Moha also addressed rising concerns over tribal politics. He defended the right of communities to hold cultural meetings, saying other groups already do so openly. He cited coastal and Kamba groupings as examples and questioned why Kikuyu gatherings attract criticism.

“Sasa mimi nauliza, iko dhambi Wakikuyu wakifanya mkutano yao mlima na wajiite jamii ya mlima?” he asked. He accused some leaders of trying to divide the country along ethnic lines. “You are trying to set up all the tribes against one tribe,” he said, referring to Hassan Omar.

He also criticised the government, saying he and others had campaigned across the country for President William Ruto but felt disappointed by the outcome. The MP accused leaders of failing to solve key national problems and said public anger was growing.

Moha warned that citizens would no longer accept intimidation. He added that the government was running the country like personal property.

“Mimi nataka kuambia serikali amabayo iko mamlakani, sisi ndio tulitembea hii Kenya, kukuOmbea wewe William Ruto kura. Tulitembea kila kona lakini hii leo, mmeanguka mmefeli, mnaua watoto, mnamaliza watu wote, wakati wa nyinyi kwenda umefika na sio tafadhali. hatutawaogopa tena. Hatuogopi na hatutauziwa uoga. Kila siku mnaendesha hii kenya kama mali yenu”

He urged young people to prepare for political change and linked past anti-Finance Bill protests to what he described as deception by leaders. He said some politicians used religion to mislead voters during campaigns.

“Mimi nataka kuambia vijana wote, Wakenya wote mahala popote mlipo. Mjitayarishe sasa, ile Finance Bill tuliteleza kwa sababu tuliamini hiyo Bibilia. Watu walikuja na Bibilia wakatukoroga akili. Wakasema ni watu wa Mungu, hawana ubaya, Mungu mbele. Kumbe hakuna Mungu hapo.”

He concluded with a strong warning about the 2027 elections, saying political competition would take a more aggressive form.

“Safari hii, 2027, bibilia itapewa wachungaji, wanaume watamenyana kwa kiwanja,” he said.
