Mbeere North is done with brokers and briefcase leaders – Justin Muturi

By , October 8, 2025

Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has declared that the people of Mbeere North are ready to break away from the grip of what he described as brokers and briefcase leaders.

Speaking after accompanying Newton Karish to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) offices to submit his nomination papers on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, Muturi said the Democratic Party (DP) candidate represents a new wave of leadership grounded in integrity and service.

“This morning, I joined Hon. Newton Karish as he presented his nomination papers to the IEBC, officially locking in his name on the ballot under the Democratic Party,” Muturi said.

He described Karish’s bid as more than just another political contest, framing it as a people-driven movement against corruption, empty promises, and self-serving leadership.

“This is not just another candidacy, it’s a movement. The people of Mbeere North are done with brokers and briefcase leaders. They want action, integrity, and truth in leadership, and Karish embodies exactly that,” Muturi added.

A call for integrity in leadership

Muturi’s message comes at a time when many Kenyans have voiced frustration over leaders accused of prioritizing personal gain over public service. His remarks tapped into growing voter sentiment for practical and accountable leadership—especially in rural areas where service delivery remains uneven.

He said the Democratic Party’s renewed energy under candidates like Karish is built on the promise of hard work and transparency.

“The wind of change is blowing, and it’s unstoppable. Ni kazi, si maneno!” Muturi said, reinforcing his belief that leadership should be measured by results, not rhetoric.

Muturi described the Democratic Party, often referred to as The Green Machine, as gaining momentum in Mbeere North and beyond. He said the movement symbolizes a shift from personality politics to issue-based campaigns.

“The Green Machine is rolling, and Mbeere North is on board,” Muturi said. As campaigns gather pace, Muturi’s message is resonating with voters seeking leaders who embody discipline, honesty, and action; values he says are at the heart of the Democratic Party’s rebirth.
