Matiang’i reveals midnight calls from leaders wanting to join Jubilee
Jubilee Deputy Party Leader Fred Matiang’i has revealed that several political leaders are privately reaching out to him, expressing interest in joining the party ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Speaking on May 26, 2026, Matiang’i said some leaders have been contacting him late at night as political realignments continue to shape the national landscape.
“Kuna viongozi wengi wanaozungumza nami, hata usiku, wakitaka kuungana na sisi katika Jubilee. Wanasema wanangoja August sijui ni wakati wa ile impeachment ama pengine itabadilika wakuje twende tutembee safari hii,” he said.
He added that the current political atmosphere indicates a growing public desire for change. “Ukiona mood ile iko kwa country na unajua sisi hatupendi kuringa,” he stated.
The remarks were made during a meeting at Jubilee Party headquarters involving Nairobi County aspirants and new members who recently joined the party from other political formations.
Jubilee grassroots mobilisation ahead of 2027
Matiang’i welcomed the new members and described Jubilee as a party founded on inclusivity and unity. He assured aspirants that the party was preparing an aggressive grassroots mobilisation strategy ahead of the next election cycle.

“Na ninawahakikishia aspirants wetu wa Jubilee: kama asemavyo President Donald Trump, ‘We will win, win, win until we get tired of winning,’” he said.
He outlined plans for ward-based campaigns, saying the party intends to strengthen direct engagement with voters across the country.
“This campaign is going to be ward-based. We will drive this campaign at ward level. We will move house to house,” Matiang’i said.
He also noted that Jubilee was expanding its organisational structures, including opening county offices and intensifying mobilisation efforts in regions such as Narok, Bomet and Kisii.
Matiang’i pledges loyalty to Uhuru
The former Interior Cabinet Secretary reaffirmed his loyalty to retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, who endorsed him as Jubilee’s 2027 presidential flagbearer.
“I thank my party leader for choosing me as the flagbearer. I will not let you down; by God’s grace, we will be back to power, and you will not regret making this decision,” Matiang’i said during a recent delegates meeting in Kiambu County.
He pledged to work with other political formations, including opposition groups, in efforts to build a united political movement ahead of 2027. “Ninawahakikishia, sitawaangusha. Nitafanya kazi kwa unyenyekevu mkubwa, pamoja na ndugu na dada zetu wote,” he added.
Matiang’i also dismissed criticism regarding his political experience, saying he preferred a structured and long-term campaign approach focused on grassroots engagement and coalition building.
