Matiang’i meets Jubilee aspirants in Homa Bay to strengthen party’s grassroots network

In a statement shared on his X handle on Friday, July 17, 2026, after meeting Jubilee Party aspirants from Homa Bay County on Friday, Matiang’i said building a united, prosperous, and inclusive Kenya requires leaders who are committed to serving their communities.
“The journey to national renewal begins with strong grassroots leadership,” Matiang’i said.

The Jubilee Deputy Party Leader noted that he was encouraged by the aspirants’ dedication to the Jubilee Party’s vision, expressing confidence in their role in advancing the party’s agenda at the grassroots.
“This morning, I had the pleasure of meeting Jubilee Party aspirants from Homa Bay County. I thank them for their commitment to our shared vision of a united, prosperous, and inclusive Kenya,” he added.
Focus on grassroots mobilisation
Matiang’i’s meeting with the Homa Bay aspirants comes as political parties continue to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of future electoral contests.
The former Cabinet Secretary has in recent months increased his political engagements across the country, meeting party officials, aspirants, and supporters as Jubilee seeks to reorganise and strengthen its structures.

His remarks underscore the party’s emphasis on grassroots leadership as the foundation for national transformation, with local leaders expected to play a central role in connecting with communities and driving development initiatives.

Matiang’i reiterated the importance of unity and inclusive leadership, saying Kenya’s progress depends on leaders working together around a common vision.
The former CS has further thanked the Homa Bay aspirants for their commitment to the party’s ideals, expressing optimism that strong grassroots leadership would contribute to the country’s broader renewal agenda.
