2027 general elections campaign

His remarks came a day after he called for peaceful campaigns as Kenya gears up for the highly anticipated general elections in 2027.

Speaking on Thursday, June 4, 2026, during a political rally in Isiolo County, the former Interior Cabinet Secretary emphasised the need to have a calm and respectful campaign.

At the same time, he expressed his readiness to serve the country as the Head of State.

His remarks come just days after he unveiled an aggressive grassroots campaign strategy as he sets his sights toward the presidency in 2027.

Ward-to-ward campaign

Speaking during a Jubilee Party aspirants meeting held at the party headquarters in Nairobi on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, the former Interior Cabinet Secretary announced that his political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general election will be conducted at the ward level across the country.

Matiang’i said his focus will be on direct engagement with voters through house-to-house campaigns and structured grassroots mobilisation.

Matiang’i said the campaign will prioritise reaching voters at the lowest administrative units, arguing that real political engagement happens at the grassroots.

He noted that the strategy will involve moving from ward to ward, meeting residents directly, and engaging them in discussions about leadership and governance.
