Matiang’i holds talks with Jubilee grassroots leaders on 2027 polls strategy
Jubilee Deputy Party leader Fred Matiang’I has held strategic discussions with the outfit’s grassroots leaders and county chairpersons drawn from all 47 counties, as the party intensifies early preparations for the 2027 General Election.
The high-level meeting took place at the party headquarters in Nairobi on Monday, June 15, 2026, and brought together senior officials and grassroots representatives under the banner of the Jubilee Party.
The engagement focused on party reorganisation, national outreach, and strengthening political structures ahead of the next electoral cycle.
In a statement, the party leadership emphasised the need to consolidate internal cohesion and rebuild strong grassroots networks across the country, insisting on the importance of revitalising the party’s presence at county and ward levels to enhance coordination and voter engagement.
“The meeting resolved to strengthen party structures from the grassroots, launch a nationwide membership drive, deepen engagement with all sectors of society, and officially commence preparations for the 2027 General Election,” the statement read in part.

Party officials noted that these measures are intended to reposition Jubilee as a more responsive and organised political movement capable of competing effectively in the next general election.
Leaders also highlighted the importance of inclusivity and sustained engagement with different demographic groups, particularly young people and women.
The talks also addressed prevailing national challenges, with leaders acknowledging the economic pressures facing citizens.

“As Kenyans continue to grapple with the high cost of living, unemployment, and economic hardship, there is a growing demand for political solutions that directly address livelihood concerns,” the statement read.
In response, the Jubilee leadership reaffirmed its commitment to a people-centred agenda, stating that the party remains focused on offering solutions, defending national unity, and building a people-centred movement that restores hope and opportunity for all.
The meeting further stressed the need for enhanced communication between national leadership and grassroots structures to ensure policy priorities reflect the realities at the community level.
County chairpersons were tasked with mobilising members and strengthening local party offices.
The renewed focus on grassroots engagement signals an attempt to rebuild support and re-establish national reach in a competitive political game of numbers.
