Martha Karua: Ruto will never change from who he is
By Luke Oluoch, October 11, 2025Martha Karua has slammed President William Ruto, stating that corruption and deceit are part of his incorrigible personality.
During an opposition rally in Embu on Saturday, October 11, 2025, the PLP party leader criticised President Ruto’s leadership, stating that the head of state is unlikely to change his approach or character.
“I did not vote for him because I understand him. His DNA is three things: killings, lies, and corruption. He cannot change. If he brings his money here, take it but continue remdinging him that one-term is the movement,” he stated.
Karua similarly reassured residents on the United Opposition brigade’s unity heading to the 2027 polls.
“We are together and ready to work for you. As the opposition principals, we have all said that one of us is better than Kasongo. He has trampled on our rights, and when we take the government, we must return the property stolen,” she charged.
“Do not be intimidated or shaken from your stand. Even when they bring you the money, you still have your vote that you will use. So take the money but let the wantam philosophy remain and send him home in 2027,” she stressed.
Speaking at the same function, Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua accused Ruto of using certain politicians to sow divisions among the people of the mountain.

Gachagua claimed that Ruto is intent on dividing Mt. Kenya voters as a strategy to maintain his grip on power.
“Ruto is hatching a plan against us. He has called his people from the Tugen, Marakwet, and Kipsigis to unite,” he stated.
“But here at our home. He is sending Kindiki and other leaders to sow divisions among us,” he said.
“He knows that for him to remain in power, he has to divide the voters of Mt Kenya, but we are not fools; we have decided to put our votes in one basket. Let us not accept being divided by him and his people,” he implored.
