Manyora explains how Gideon Moi’s entry could undermine Ruto’s 2027 re-election
Seasoned political analyst Herman Manyora has warned that former Baringo Senator Gideon Moi’s decision to team up with President William Ruto could potentially cost the Head of State his re-election in 2027.
Speaking on his YouTube channel on Saturday, October 12, 2025, Manyora argued that by bringing Gideon Moi on board after already winning over Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta, President Ruto risks reviving the image of the “dynasties” that Kenyans rejected in 2022.
“The coming on board of Gideon Moi brings with it disaster to William Ruto’s campaign,” Manyora stated. “In fact, we need not wait for anything else. That may as well be the proverbial last nail.”

Manyora explained that Kenyans who voted for Ruto in 2022 did so largely because he represented a populist narrative of a ‘hustler’ rising from humble beginnings to challenge entrenched political families.

However, with Moi, Raila, and Uhuru now appearing to rally behind him, Manyora said Ruto risks losing the very identity that made him appealing to ordinary voters.

“A picture is beginning to emerge that the system, the deep state, and the dynasties are regrouping. This began when Raila joined Ruto. That’s when the perception of the dynasties coming together to fight the people of Kenya started taking shape,” Manyora stated.

The analyst noted that Ruto’s political brand was built on an anti-establishment message that contrasted sharply with the influence of powerful families such as the Mois, Kenyattas, and Odingas.
According to Manyora, aligning with them now undermines the authenticity of Ruto’s “bottom-up” narrative that endeared Kenyans to him.
“The deep state and dynasties of which Ruto spoke so passionately in 2022, the narrative that sold so well, have been overturned. Now the true colours are coming out.” Manyora stated.

He concluded that Gideon Moi’s entry into Ruto’s political circle completes the “dynastic picture”, cautioning that it could alienate the ordinary Kenyans who propelled Ruto to power.
“With the coming of Gideon Kipsiele Moi, the picture is complete,” Manyora said.
Ruto-Gideon agreement
These come two days after Gideon Moi agreed to enter into the broad-based arrangement with Kenya Kwanza.
These came after a statehouse meeting between him and the president, which culminated in him shelving his Baringo senatorial bid for United Democratic Alliance party candidate Vincent Chemitei.
