Malava by-election: Manyora predicts how DAP-K’s Seth Panyako can secure early win
By Mabonga Makhanu, October 14, 2025Seasoned political analyst Herman Manyora has stated that if Democratic Action Party (DAP-K) leader Eugene Wamalwa unleashes Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale and Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya in Malava, it will be an early win for Kenya National Union of Nurses (KNUN) chair Seth Panyako in the Malava mini polls.
While speaking on his channel on Monday, October 13, 2025, Manyora expressed his disappointment with how former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s party, Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), has refused to withdraw its candidate, Edgar Busiega, from the race in the spirit of zoning.

He noted that since DCP and DAP-K are in the same coalition, it would have been wiser for DCP to cede ground to DAP-K, which has a stronghold in Malava.

Manyora continued to state that despite this, if Eugene Wamalwa steps back and releases his deputy party leader and Kakamega Senator to camp in Malava, their candidate Seth Panyako will beat UDA’s David Ndakwa and DCP’s Edgar Busiega, winning with over 70 percent of the vote.
Manyora further advised Eugene Wamalwa to shelve his feud with Natembeya over the leadership of the party and let Natembeya take charge of the campaigns in Malava, saying they would “have DCP’s candidate for breakfast and UDA’s candidate for lunch.”
“I am telling you, a combination of Natembeya and Khalwale in Malava will get over 70 percent of the votes. They will have DCP’s candidate for breakfast and UDA’s candidate for lunch,” Manyora said.
He further contended that despite all these factors, Seth Panyako has a higher chance of winning in the November 27 mini polls.
Heated campaigns in Malava
This comes at a time when campaigns in Malava are now in top gear, with Seth Panyako recently cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

His clearance was witnessed by his party leader Eugene Wamalwa, together with Boni Khalwale who recently declared his support for DAP-K’s candidate despite being in UDA among other politicians from the region who escorted him to the IEBC offices.
Seth Panyako continues to receive a huge boost after former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo came out to endorse him, saying he is fully behind his bid.
On the other side, UDA has unleashed all its machinery to camp in Malava to secure victory for its candidate, David Ndakwa.
