Kuria reveals plot to use his Chama Cha Kazi Party to disrupt Gachagua’s Embu tour

By , November 12, 2025

Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) Party Leader Moses Kuria has disclosed a plot to cause chaos in Embu.

Through a statement on his X handle on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, Kuria stated that the plan involves hired goons dressed in CCK party uniforms to disrupt the Democracy for Citizens’ Party Leader Rigathi Gachagua’s campaign tour.

Rigathi Gachagua is expected to tour Embu County, specifically Mbeere North, to campaign for Newton Karish, the United Opposition’s aspirant.

Kuria also clarified that the goons will falsely claim that Gachagua owes Mbeere North aspirant Duncan Mbui, CCK candidate, Ksh10M, which he called a lie.

Kuria warns against chaos

The party leader emphasised that Chama Cha Kazi has adopted a zero-tolerance policy on electoral violence.

He reminded Kenyans of the lessons from past unrest, including the 2007-2008 post-election violence, and stressed that the party will not deviate from its principled stance.

“We continue to urge IEBC to take these matters seriously, as what will happen on November 27th is a harbinger of what will happen on August 10, 2027,” Kuria wrote.

IEBC urged to intervene

Kuria urged the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to act promptly to prevent disruptions during the upcoming tour.

He called on all stakeholders to ensure that the campaign period remains peaceful and that political activities are conducted without threats or intimidation.

The disclosure highlights tensions ahead of the upcoming campaigns and raises concerns about potential attempts to manipulate political events for ulterior motives.

Chama Cha Kazi remains firm that any efforts to create unrest will be exposed and countered within the framework of law and democracy.
