Kioni asks Kenyans to reject division pushed by leaders

By , December 14, 2025

Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has urged Kenyans to uphold unity, faith, and servant leadership.

He made the call on Sunday, December 14, 2025, on X, following a thanksgiving service at PEFA Church in Kibichoi, Kiambu County, where he joined in celebrating the opening of the church’s new sanctuary and the consecration of Bishop Kimani as Presiding Bishop.

Kioni highlighted the importance of gratitude and togetherness. He urged Kenyans to reject division, uphold justice, and rebuild trust through leadership that serves the people. Kioni also encouraged citizens to choose peace over conflict and hope over despair as the country approached the Christmas season.

“It was a profound moment of gratitude, grace, and appreciation to God for His faithfulness and provision. The sermon powerfully emphasised the call to grow together as a people, one family of humanity, bound by love, responsibility, and shared purpose,” he wrote.

“This message strongly resonates with our national moment. As a country, we are challenged to reject division, uphold justice, and rebuild trust through servant leadership, compassion, and unity.”

“Faith must continue to guide our public life, reminding those entrusted with authority that leadership is a sacred duty to serve, protect, and uplift all. As we prepare our hearts for the Christmas season, may this spirit of togetherness inspire us to choose peace over conflict, hope over despair, and unity over division.”

Kioni addresses party communication issues

The statement came amid a series of political developments involving Kioni. On November 12, 2025, he broke his silence after former President Uhuru Kenyatta cautioned Jubilee officials against attacking other leaders. Uhuru had warned that personal insults, even in political disagreements, were unacceptable and could lead to expulsion from the party.

Kioni clarified that the former President was addressing communication issues within the party. He said Jubilee’s communication team would hold a retreat to streamline messaging and focus on issues affecting Kenyans.
