Kiambu county leaders allied to the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition have now vowed to support President William Ruto.

Addressing the media in Kiambu town on Thursday, December 15, 2022, the leaders led by former Kiambu governor James Nyoro acknowledged Ruto’s August 9 win and subsequently pledged to support his administration.

“We acknowledge that it is now time to develop and transform this nation and especially our economy for the benefit of our people, We would like to congratulate Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua on their win during the August election…We are pledging our loyalty and support to the president, “Nyoro stated.

The politicians who fiercely opposed Ruto’s candidature stated that they wanted to be included in the current government and reiterated that they will be loyal to the Head of State.

“We want to be included in the current government, we have been in the previous government, w worked with it and paid our loyalty, now that we have a new leadership w want to shift our loyalty to it,” Joyce Ngugi, the former Kiambu deputy governor stated.

The leaders further stated that they had not ditched their parties but were only shifting allegiance in support of the ruling government.
